What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mechanical Drafter position at Actalent?
Actalent is sourcing to a hire a mechanical drafter who is proficient in solid works. This is a long term opportunity that comes with benefits, paid holidays and paid time off.
Description:
This person will be joining the Engineering team, there are currently 4 people on the team. This person will work on the Aftermarket side (designing components) and New Products (the components and entire system). They will use Solidworks in order to do the create the solid modeling and then convert them to detail drawings.
The company creates industrial Gearbox's. This person needs to have designed rotating equipment in order to correctly understand the properties and what is necessary for the designs. All of the projects are custom.
They will need to come in and be an expert in solidworks. They will train on their specific product lines and teach them what they may need to in regards to gears and bearings, but they need to have extensive experience with rotating equipment, component selection, weldments, etc
There will be a solidworks assessment with three separate sections including assembly, drawing/drafting (tolerances, references planes, etc) and Modeling.
Skills & Qualifications:
- SOLID WORKS (Must be fluid)
- Mechanical Design experience for rotating equipment
- piping design
- Mapping
- Fluid film and rolling element bearings, gear design, and vibration analysis
