The role of a Mechanical Engineer involves working as part of a team to design and test various aspects of mechanical equipment and simulation hardware. This includes developing, reading, and understanding technical drawings and documents, and translating them into operational mechanisms. The Mechanical Engineer leads design efforts for products such as engines, machines, instruments, controls, or robots. They are responsible for creating design sketches, layouts, and plans, and using computer-assisted design (CAD) software to create both preliminary and detailed drawings of the product. Additionally, they produce specifications for products and select raw materials and components to be used in production.
The engineer also builds models and prototypes of the product, tests the design, studies the test data, and makes comparisons with similar designs. They develop control systems and monitor production to ensure everything runs smoothly. Other related duties may be assigned as needed.

The pay range for this position is $39.00 - $51.00/hr.
