What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prior Authorization Pharmacy Technician (Remote) position at Actalent?
A well-known National company is looking to add several certified, fully remote Pharmacy Technicians to their team. Candidates can work fully remote. Training shifts will be from 10-6:30 EST, with regular start-times being 8am, 9am, or 10am in the time zone someone sits.
These Technicians are reviewing Prior Authorizations for determination. They will either approve or deny and then send them to a Pharmacists for final review. Technicians will handle all health plans, and all types of medications.
Responsibilities:
- Process prescription exceptions which may include: resolving claim rejects and member and physician outreach.
- Enter member demographics and prescription information into the data processing system.
- Research and resolve rejected insurance billing issues and/or escalated member issues.
- Escalate questions regarding prescription to a Pharmacist for interpretation or provide direction on processing.
- Assist with inbound and/or outbound patient or physician calls.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills:
- Education/Experience: High School diploma OR college degree required.
- Current Pharmacy Registration and Certification as required by state of operation.
- Proficient skills with using computers to complete Pharmacy duties remotely
Shifts:
Training will be held from 10am-6:30pm EST, where normal shifts will start at 8am, 9am, or 10am in the local time zone of the candidate. Must be able to work a rotating weekend shift, possibly 1 shift every 4-6 weeks.
