What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
Provides technical leadership and support to Nonwoven Finishing Business Unit to meet its Performance Goals. Responsibilities include: design of new equipment and/or modification of equipment to meet desired performance; maintenance of equipment that allows for a safe, efficient, and cost effective operation; continuous process improvement through process engineering and continuous improvement techniques.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Issue all new and revised processes and formulations.
2. Supports R & D and manufacturing for process development and improvement.
3. Investigates, initiates, and organizes plant trials to improve quality and/or costs.
4. Reviews processes and machine audits, initiating actions to correct non-conformances.
5. Initiate and approve all costs on new and revised processes.
6. Play a key role in safety design, education, and awareness
7. Investigate cause and resolution of off-quality, efficiency, and/or abnormal costs.
8. Investigate, recommend and implement processes and/or equipment improvements as needed to improve costs, quality, efficiency, and safety through
process changes and/or equipment modifications.
9. Improve equipment reliability through management of equipment design, selection, and maintenance.
10. Develop and maintain equipment capability specification
11. Use Project Management techniques and Open Issue Reports to manage, track, and communicate status of projects.
12. Initiate, justify and manage projects costs to meet timelines and budgets
13. Stay abreast of new technologies and equipment available in the marketplace
14. Maintain relationships with customers and vendors to utilize resources when needed.
15. Other duties assigned by manager to maintain the business unit
