Actalent is hiring for a Quality Assurance Technician for a food manufacturing company in the Wheeling, IL area.
Description:
- The Quality Technician performs routine daily tasks that ensure the products manufactured meet food safety, regulatory and quality requirements
- Various tests are performed, and results are recorded and reported on a daily basis.
- This position offers a wide variety of interaction with all members of the plant team and exposure to the entire manufacturing process.
- Perform Inspections including Pre-Operational and Food Safety – document and communicate results.
- Perform Daily Operating Inspections as needed to assure compliance with GMP’s and USDA requirements.
- Perform Metal Detector Record Checks inform Supervisor of deficiencies.\
- Conduct ATP swab tests – Weekly Line Swabs.
- Calibrate Test equipment such as Scales, pH meter, Thermometers, Metal Detector, etc.
- Perform pre-start-up and changeover verifications and documentation.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of QA activities.
- Monitor HACCP Critical Control Point.
- Perform Quality Audits as required.
- Perform in-bound raw and packaging material checks to ensure customer requirements are met.
- Liaison with USDA.
- Report and Follow-Up on Food Safety and Food Quality concerns.
- Follows all Food Safety PPE/GMP requirements and reports any concerns in the plant
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED WITH 1 year of quality experience OR degree in the sciences PREFERRED (will need a degree to move into a lead or supervisor role)
- GMP
- Previous experience in food manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Previous experience in frozen food manufactory is desired.
