What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Engineer position at Actalent?
Description
Manages the advanced product quality planning process for new model launch.
Write and implement procedures for gage and inspection standards, engineering changes, product audits, standardized work and any other quality related functions.
Evaluate proposed changes in design , process and materials to current specifications.
Investigate problems and coordinate corrective action and follow up with customers and suppliers on countermeasures.
Assists suppliers in developing quality systems which will improve quality and cost.
Customer contact for any problems, design issues, countermeasures and responsible for written verbal communications to all pertinent personnel.
Review technical publications to determine possible application of new methods, techniques and equipment.
Analyze reliability and quality performance through statistical analysis
Completion and documentation of all phases of the Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) process.
Prepare and submit all necessary PPAP documentation per AIAG guidelines.
Develop gauge concepts and procure gauges for specific programs.
Work with component and tooling/equipment suppliers to improve products and resolve -manufacturing problems. This may involve travel to the specific customer or supplier location.
Participate in internal audits as required.
Train Quality and Production personnel in Quality requirements relating to specific programs.
Support the Product Introduction Process through all phases of prototype fabrication and delivery.
