Description:
Actalent is looking for a Substation Designer/Engineer to join our growing southeast Power Delivery teams. This individual will be supporting Substation Design projects for a variety of clients such as Duke and FPL, either in Physical and/or P&C and responsible for assigned deliverables.
Primary Responsibilities
• Perform engineering tasks with varying levels of complexity, which are assigned by a Lead Project Engineer or Project Manager.
• Conduct analyses to develop electrical design options or recommendations, and assist in the preparation of cost estimates and specifications
• Perform routine electrical engineering assignments, with instruction from the Project Engineer or Project Manager regarding the expected results
• Work on projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Work on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
• Work with assistance from Project Engineers, other Electrical EITs or Technicians as needed
• Perform other duties as needed

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 2 Years of Substation Design experience (Physical and/or P&C)
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, and electrical design software.
• Ability to multi-task and work on multiple projects.
Preferred Qualifications
• PE or Actively pursuing a PE (EIT) a plus
• Experience doing electrical power system analysis, electrical system planning, protective device application and substation design is highly preferred.
• Experience doing control system application is highly preferred.
• Familiarity or willingness to learn electrical design software such as MicroStation, Inventor, SDS and AutoCAD.
