What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Engineer position at Actalent?
Actalent is currently hiring an entry level test engineer with a premier client in the Peoria, IL area. We are ideally targeting individuals interested in working hands on in a lab environment.
Summary of the Role:
This team supports testing of electric drive components in a lab environment. This team does lab testing for motors, generators and power electronics. They do performance and endurance testing on specific products. This role would have the opportunity to work on both. This team works closely with Design and Simulation teams to develop validation plans and
execute them in the lab. This team also supports new product introduction (NPI) as well as (CPI) and field returns.
Job Description:
Work day will vary day to day – will define test plans, work with design/simulation teams to
determine test conditions and data needed.
- Will work to bring in the necessary motors/generators into the lab, get instrumentation set up coordinating that.
- Responsible for running tests and ensuring test conditions are being met
- Responsible for collecting data and analyzing it to summarize and present to broader team.
- Team typically completes 3-4 projects per year
Typical task breakdown:
- You will define test details
- Coordinate modification of DUTs (Device under test), Add instrumentation, execute testing, data analysis, report out results, create technical report.
- Dissection/Inspection
Interaction with team:
- There will be an experienced engineer mentor to learn role
- You will also have daily interactions with testing team and design/controls internal clients.
Work environment:
- You will be working in a lab environment that focusses on product testing
- 30% of role will be office based at desk for data analysis and meetings
- 70% will be in lab or shop testing / working on the products

Salary : $60,000 - $65,000
