Job Title: Test Technician

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Test Technician to join our team. In this role, you will conduct performance tests on parts and products, generate accurate reports, and support new product development activities. This is a hands-on position with opportunities for growth and continued education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Technical Products performance tests on parts and products in an accurate and timely manner.
• Work with requestors to modify and expand test plans and procedures.
• Generate written reports of test results in an accurate, concise manner, drawing sound conclusions and observations.
• Set up and operate lab equipment and contribute to the organization and layout of the lab for increased efficiency.
• Accurately read and interpret engineering drawings and make accurate prototype parts, assemblies, and products as requested.
• Design and build equipment and fixtures to conduct testing.
• Assist in maintaining the calibration of the lab equipment.
• Work with agency representatives/inspectors to help facilitate lab and manufacturing inspections and work with the Standards Engineer to resolve any findings.
• Coordinate and manage off-site testing.
• Support and participate in new product development Lean activities (i.e., DFMEA-Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Design Reviews, 3P Conceptual Design event).
• Assist engineers with the design and development of test machinery and equipment as required.
• Provide testing and engineering support for Engineered Solution and Value Engineering projects.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in an industrial manufacturing company with at least 2 years in an engineering test lab.
• Ability to read/operate standard engineering instruments including Tape Measure, Caliper, Micrometer, Force/Pressure Gauge, Voltage Meter, etc.
• Proficiency in using computer software for data analysis and test station operation.
• Adherence to safety protocols and maintaining a clean work environment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Two-year technical degree preferred.
• Electrical, Electronics, HVAC training or experience preferred.
• Technical writing experience preferred.

Work Environment

Lab setting - very hands-on position with time at the desk analyzing data and creating reports. The team currently has 10-15 other technicians. The company offers room for growth, movement within the company, and continued education reimbursements. The company is growing and looking to expand this group.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $35.00
