What You Will Be Doing

The Vice President, East Coast Distribution will lead the end-to-end distribution strategy and operations across two key regional facilities, ensuring high performance, operational efficiency, and exceptional service to green grass and National accounts. This role is critical in supporting growth, managing seasonal volume shifts, and delivering a seamless customer experience across North America. While not directly responsible for global distribution operations, this role will also lead from the center, coordinating cross-functional and cross-regional efforts to identify, implement, and govern global standards, technology, and best practices in distribution.

East Coast Operations:

• Lead the operations of two East Coast distribution centers, ensuring efficient inbound, inventory management, order fulfillment, and outbound logistics.

• Align operational performance with broader company goals, including service level expectations, cost targets, and delivery timelines.

• Drive execution and continuous improvement of distribution processes with a focus on accuracy, speed, and safety.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal partners across product, planning, customer service, and transportation.

• Implement best practices in warehouse management and ensure full utilization of WMS and related technologies.

• Monitor KPIs and operational data to proactively manage performance and identify areas for improvement.

• Champion a safety-first culture and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory standards.

Global Distribution Council:

• Establish, lead, and manage a cross-functional council of global distribution leaders to drive alignment and collaboration across the organization.

• Develop governance frameworks for global distribution standards, ensuring changes are implemented with consistency and stakeholder alignment.

• Partner with IT and regional teams to assess, implement, and optimize distribution technologies (e.g., WMS, TMS, automation tools) that support scalable, efficient, and standardized operations.

• Identify opportunities to harmonize distribution processes globally where appropriate, while allowing for flexibility when needed.

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

• 15 years of progressive experience in distribution, logistics, or supply chain management including exposure to global or multi-regional environments. 5 years in senior leadership roles.

• Strong expertise in distribution systems and technologies (e.g., WMS, automation, robotics, ERP integration).

• Strong experience managing large, multi-site operations across a geographically dispersed region.

• Demonstrated success implementing operational and process improvement strategies (Lean, Six Sigma, etc.).

• Proven ability to lead high-performing teams in fast-paced, dynamic environments.

• Strong analytical and financial acumen; able to develop and manage large-scale budgets.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
