Avionics Technician I
Location - California, MD
Requirements:
- Perform aircraft maintenance to include inspection, operational test, repair, and modification of aircraft electrical/avionics systems
- Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of applicable maintenance/technical manuals and publications, and special tools and test equipment.
- Must be familiar with operational capabilities and limitations of electrical/avionics systems
- Perform the troubleshooting and rewiring of complex avionics/electrical systems and subsystems discrepancies and modifications
- Use blueprints, schematics, technical drawings and manufacturers' drawings and sketches in the performance of assigned duties
- May be required to perform Maintenance Operational Checks (MOCs)
- Complete maintenance documentation accurately using OOMA, and required forms, as required by job assignment.
Qualifications:
- (2) years' experience in a primary MOS from any of the following OccFlds: 6323 Aircraft Maintenance, equivalent skill designation from other services or possess valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant Certification
- Must show proficiency in the use of OOMA within 90 days after assignment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to meet any Government/Company licensing/qualification requirements for the position
- Must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must have or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance and base access.
- USN/USMC experience preferred
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and maneuver 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pass fit for work physical and/or drug test as required.
- Must be able to work in areas that require awkward posturing, bending, kneeling, squatting, to include working overhead.
- Must be able to work at height in the hangar and on the flightline.
- Must be able to man and perform Flightline Extinguisher duties.
- If required must be able to pass a DOT physical and operate Powered Industrial Trucks.
- If required must be able to pass a respiratory physical and wear a respirator for 2 - 4 hours.
- If required must be able to perform confined space activities.
- Travel may be required.
