Responsibilities
- Process multi-state payroll accurately and on time for salaried and hourly employees.
- Ensure payroll transactions are in compliance with labor laws, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain payroll records and prepare journal entries related to payroll expenses, taxes, and benefits.
- Reconcile payroll-related general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare and file federal, state, and local payroll tax returns.
- Manage employee deductions such as benefits, garnishments, and retirement contributions.
- Support internal and external audits by providing payroll reports and documentation.
- Stay current on changes to payroll regulations and recommend process improvements.
- Collaborate with HR to ensure accurate employee data in payroll systems.
- Solid knowledge of payroll laws, tax compliance, and accounting principles.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
