Addison Group is representing a boutique structural engineering firm in Seattle with the recruitment of a Project Accountant. This firm is known for its innovative work on commercial and civic projects throughout the area since 1944. The Opportunity:
The Project Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial aspects of multiple engineering projects, working closely with project managers and firm leadership to ensure accurate billing, budget tracking, and financial reporting. This position offers exposure to both operational and strategic elements of accounting, and will report to the CFO.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor project budgets, track costs, and manage invoicing cycles
- Prepare monthly billing statements in accordance with client contracts
- Collaborate with project managers to review project status and resolve discrepancies
- Maintain and update project financial records in the accounting system
- Generate reports on project performance, profitability, and forecasting
- Assist with month-end close related to project revenue and WIP
- Support audit and compliance processes related to project accounting
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 2 years of accounting experience; project-based or A/E/C industry a plus
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with project accounting software (e.g., Deltek, Ajera, or similar)
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Ability to partner closely with leadership, executive team, and stakeholders
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and detail-oriented financial data

Our client offers:
$80,000 to $95,000 base salary range dependent on experience.
