QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree required; Master’s Degree required
- Valid license from the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in Science 1-6; 5-12
- SEI Endorsement
- Additional content area licensure is encouraged
- Licensure requirements and validity are subject to change at the discretion of DESE
- An understanding of the concepts of institutional and structural racism and bias and their impact on underserved and underrepresented communities
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Collaborate/coordinate with school personnel in the central office and in the schools (principals, assistant directors, directors, curriculum and instructional support teachers, department heads, lead teachers etc.) to ensure the vertical and horizontal articulation of curriculum and instruction in Science.
- Continue implementation and facilitation of the Science curriculum pre-K to 12 to the STE Frameworks.
- Collaborate with Special Education and Multilingual Education departments to ensure equitable access to curriculum.
- Develop and maintain community partnerships and family engagement to enrich science learning experiences.
- Coordinate the training and implementation of district assessments.
- Manage/supervise/conduct standards-based Science professional development including collaboration and integration with Multilingual Education and Special Education Departments.
- Assure a direct focus on literacy (reading, writing, vocabulary) in the implementation of the Science curriculum and professional development.
- Collaborate with other district personnel in the construction, implementation and data analysis of assessments. Provide continuous feedback on student progress in Science.
- Supervise/review/recommend/order research-based Science instructional materials/equipment/supplies.
- Study and remain abreast of evolving state and federal regulatory criteria regarding Science programming.
- Serve on internal school review teams (School Improvement Planning teams, leadership teams, etc.) to analyze data for the preparation and implementation of action plans in accordance with state and federal guidelines.
- Manage/supervise/conduct modeling of Science lessons.
- Prepare and/or assist in writing grants to secure funds to support Science
programs as well as to secure other funds to enhance education in the Lynn Public Schools. - Prepare and/or assist in writing grant mandated interim and final reports.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
DAYS: Twelve month position
HOURS: Regular hours: 7:45- 3:45 M-Th; 7:45-2:45 Friday
Summer and school vacation hours; 7:45-2:45 M-Th; 7:45-12:45 Friday
SALARY: $117,524 in accordance with the Lynn Schools Administrator Association contract
