The Supply Chain Purchaser/Planner position is a key role within our strategic plan for Supply Chain Management. Excellent organizational skills, ability to balance short term priorities and exceptional information analysis skills are a necessity. Key objectives will be achieving/improving/exceeding targeted customer service levels, managing inventory levels and targets, and managing supply and demand within the Global supply chain.
Requirements
- Plan, monitor, and manager short and long-term inventory to align with the demand and inventory targets for the Adventure Brand Portfolio across multiple stocking locations.
- Plan and execute procurement of raw materials & components to support the manufacturing & inventory plans from global suppliers for our Adventure Ready Brand Portfolio
- Plan & Expedite Inventory movements between warehouse locations to improve availability and minimize out of stocks. (TO, SO, PO)
- Establish and Monitor Inventory levels vs targets and adjust plans accordingly considering key inputs; Safety stock, orders/forecast, build/order size and lead times.
- Lead/participate in meetings with warehouses to review inventory pipeline and revises as needed to minimize bottlenecks and out of stocks.
- Partner with Marketing and Brand on new product development initiatives that encompass forecasting new launches, potential cannibalization of existing products, new sourcing, and project management.
- Ensure omnichannel forecasting aligns with inventory strategies and manage the flow of receipts and inventory to support demand.
- Identify, manage, and create solutions to avoid aged, obsolete, and expired inventory. Plan, schedule, and monitor rework/refresh initiatives.
- Maintain strong working relationships and communications with external vendors, quality, brand and sales partners.
- Manage vendor relationships: RFQ, Cost saving initiatives, Negotiations, Supplier relationship/evaluation, coordinate with quality assurance to ensure approval/compliance.
- Confirm/Expedite vendor production/shipping schedules and monitor open purchase orders to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Maintain purchase order status and shipment tracking information in NAVISION ERP system.
- Proactively report product and material availability business disrupters.
- Coordinate new product launch review and analysis of materials for the Adventure Ready Brand Portfolio.
- Excel at communication with Quality to enhance compliance in accordance with any policies or regulations.
- Maintain cGMP compliance throughout ordering process
- Maintain essential system planning data to ensure NAVISION ERP and Lanham Demand Planning systems are effectively planning future requirements.
- Create and maintain appropriate KPI reporting: Production Plan vs. Actual, Current and Projected Inventory levels (units/dollars, WOH) vs demand & inventory targets, Vendor Scorecard, etc.
- Initiate and participate in planning, purchasing & inventory improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
- Complete special projects and assignments as requested.
- Ensure suppliers are approved through the supplier qualification program
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum of 3 years Supply Chain (Planning & Procurement) experience.
- NAVISION ERP and Lanham Demand Planning system experience preferred.
- Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain concepts and application.
- Motivated by problem solving. A builder who takes initiative and can drive change with willingness to create, manage, and improve tools, processes, and outcomes
- Strong analytical, planning, and organizational skills.
- Advanced in Microsoft Excel, with experience using large data sets, pivot tables, and complex formulas. Ability to pull, review, and analyze data with high accuracy and attention to detail
- Effective negotiation skills including experience managing external suppliers and partners
- Strong written and verbal communication skills (internal and external).
- Self-starter with ability to work independently under pressure and react quickly to changing priorities.
- Strong sense of ownership and drive for excellence.
- Strong ability to work well in a group atmosphere and comply with high quality standards.
- Strong ability to shift from one task to another to address changing production priorities and meeting deadlines
