What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Programmer position at Aerodyn Engineering?
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Programmer to join our team. As a CNC Programmer, you will be responsible for programming and operating computer numerical control (CNC) machines to produce non-production, high precision parts and components. You will work closely with engineers and machinists to ensure the successful completion of projects.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine the appropriate machining operations.
- Write and modify CNC programs using programming software Mastercam and Solidworks.
- Assist machinists in set up and program questions for 3-5 axis milling and lathe machines. Example: Mori 3000 5 Axis, Haas 3-4 axis lathe, UMC 750, DMU 65, etc.
- Assist manufacturing estimator with any questions regarding estimates/quotes for new work.
- Purchase and prepare tooling and requirement equipment for each job released to manufacturing.
- Collaborate with engineers and machinists to optimize machining processes.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Programmer on tight tolerance (<.005) highly complex manufacturing.
- Proven experience using Mastercam.
- Proven experience machining harder materials such as Titanium, Rockide, Inconel, etc.
- Proficient in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- Strong knowledge of milling machines, tooling, and precision measuring instruments
- Familiarity with GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
