Aerospace Welding Minneapolis Inc. is actively seeking a Procurement Manager. This individual will directly lead a team of professionals responsible for procurement. The procurement team will purchase for all commodities for Aerospace Welding Minneapolis Inc. & Aerospace Manufacturing Inc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- The procurement professionals will manage the negotiation strategy, including RFPs, cost accountability, PO placement, adherence to processes, manage suppliers’ performance, and track performance metric.
- Directs programs for effective vendor selection and management with a view to minimize purchasing costs without compromising quality or reliability of supply.
- Reviews changes in price trends and manufacturing processes and makes recommendations to ensure successful procurement process.
- Manages escalations and resolution of internal customer issues or problems.
- Monitors and coordinates suppliers to schedule or expedite deliveries to ensure resolution of problems such as shortages and missed or late deliveries.
- Authorizes purchase orders, negotiates prices and approves payments to support the procurement process.
- Analyzes and monitors contract performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and to help determine need for changes.
- Manages all schedules, and purchase orders.
- Ensures product is delivered on time, meets quality standards, and at the right cost.
- Perform all other duties assigned by supervisor or manager.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or G.E.D.
- Bachelor’s degree and 5 years of prior relevant experience.
- Requires practical knowledge in leading and managing the execution of processes, projects and tactics within one work area.
- Typically has broad knowledge and skills within a specific technical or professional discipline with understanding of the impact of work on other areas of the organization.
- Willing and able to follow both verbal and written work instructions.
- Ability to stand or sit for prolonged periods of time while performing job duties.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations in fractions as well as decimals.
- To be able to lift and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
