What are the responsibilities and job description for the CNC Machinist position at AFCO Performance Group?
AFCO Performance Group will be hiring a CNC Machinist in Boonville, Indiana. Due to the exploding market of Auto Racing, we are looking for a team member that enjoys daily or weekly goal setting and teaming up to exceed expectations. We work in a climate-controlled environment and are currently working 10-hour days Monday to Thursday.
The ideal candidate will apply machining experience to procure parts that help the team produce products, exceeding customer expectations in auto racing markets around the world.
Responsibilities:
- Operate all equipment in a proper and safe manner.
- Utilize CNC saw to prepare raw materials for jobs.
- Machine parts on CNC horizontal lathes and CNC vertical mills according to work orders.
- Check critical features of parts with measurement equipment & ensure details meet required tolerances.
- Keep the machines / machining area clean and in order.
Minimum Requirements:
- Experience & training in the use of CNC machining equipment. Manual machining equipment operation is a plus. Two-year technical degree is preferred.
- High school diploma or a GED.
- Capable of reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings.
- Capable of using measurement and dimensional inspection equipment such as Vernier calipers, micrometers, and height gauges.
- Capable of performing offsets in CNC machine programs to ensure parts meet tolerances.
- Mastercam experience is a plus.
- Must have a mechanical inclination and be able to use hands to operate machinery in a productive and safe manner.
- Must be able to stand, bend, twist, and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
- Must recognize and acknowledge the high moral quality and goodwill of the company.
- Must understand and acknowledge that employee is exposed to trade secrets or other information that is proprietary to AFCO and must agree to maintain the confidentiality of both.
