After-School STEAM Instructor
Location: Lafayette, San Francisco

About the Role:

• Facilitate our STEM program, blending Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) for elementary students.
• Create an engaging, hands-on learning experience that fosters cognitive development and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and deliver interactive STEM activities that captivate and educate young learners.
• Efficiently manage classroom dynamics and maintain an orderly learning environment.
• Handle and replenish STEM supplies, ensuring they are ready for each session.
• Set up student-friendly learning stations and implement effective classroom management strategies.
• Collaborate with colleagues to enhance teaching strategies for elementary students in an after-school setting.
• Continuously adapt teaching methods and engage in professional development for STEM enrichment.

Experience:

• Proven ability to engage elementary students in a hands-on, interactive learning environment.
• Strong skills in classroom management, organization, and STEM activity execution.
• Background in early childhood education with a focus on STEM enrichment.
• Experience with the unique aspects of after-school teaching.
• Continuous engagement in professional development in STEM and early education.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $37.00 per hour

Expected hours: 1 – 2 per week
