Production Operator

Summary Job Description:

This position is part of a production team in a climate-controlled manufacturing facility. The Production Operator will be expected to work in a safe manner, produce quality material, and actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts. Production operates 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. There is a possibility of daily and/or weekend overtime (voluntary and scheduled).

Essential Functions:

•Operates various production equipment used in compound manufacturing including extruder, blender, sifter, mill, drum lift, lift tables, etc.

•Performs work that requires repeated lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, standing, etc.

•Completes assigned tasks to make products that meet established quality standards

•Complies with all applicable safety, health, and environmental policies and procedures

•Complies with all applicable quality policies and procedures

Job Requirements:

•High school diploma or equivalent

•One to three years experience in a manufacturing environment preferred

•Ability to read and write English-follow written instructions, read and record part numbers, lot numbers and instrument displays

•Basic arithmetic skills - ability to add, multiply, and subtract

•Good interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to function as part of a team

•Mechanical aptitude: ability to disassemble and re-assemble machinery and equipment; ability to safely operate a forklift truck. Troubleshooting ability a plus

•Ability to complete physically strenuous labor that includes standing and going up and down stairs as well and lifting up to 50 pounds and handling drums that can weigh 225 pounds or more

•Must be able to work overtime as assigned for daily and or weekend.

•Training will take place on 1st or 2nd shifts.

•Available shift(s): Sunday – Thursday, 11:00 pm – 7:00 am; Monday – Friday, 3:00 pm – 11:00 pm

Shift schedule is determined by Seniority Shift Preference

Pay information and benefit information:

• $19.67 per hour starting

• $20.76 per hour after completion of 60-day probationary period

• $22.55 per hour after one year

• $28.19 per hour after two years

• Medical, dental, vision, 401 (k) and more available after probationary period

• USW member after probationary period
