Monterey Park Hospital, located in the San Gabriel Valley of Los Angeles County, is currently recruiting a Part Time Admitting Representative. The shifts and days off are varied. Admitting is a department that functions 24/7. Weekends and holidays shall be worked on an alternating schedule. This position reports to the Director of Patient Financial Services.
Responsibilities:
The Admitting Rep is responsible for greeting the patients as they arrive, registering patients into the Hospital computer system, verifying & validating all the information that is received and delivering that information along with the patient to the different service units. This is performed in a variety of settings not limited to In-patient & Out-patient registrations, but also in the Emergency Dept. The Admitting Rep will also take PBX rotations when needed.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of patient registration process with at least 2 years previous Admitting experience (or similar). Knowledge of HMO’s, PPO, Medi-Cal, Medi-Care, Worker’s Comp., HIPAA, EMTALA. Great Customer Service, above-average collection skills & Spanish speaking desired. High school graduate or equivalent preferred. Heartsaver CPR and AB508 must be obtained within 90 days upon employment.
