Registered Nurse (Same Day/PACU)

Vista Health System is a community healthcare provider; a network that includes Vista Medical East campus and the Vista Lindenhurst campus that includes Vista Ambulatory Care Center, Lindenhurst Surgery Center, LLC, for same-day outpatient surgery, freestanding Emergency Center, and the Medical Office Building. The Vista Health system also has several locations for imaging, patient therapy, and physician offices throughout Lake County, Illinois.

Shift: Days- 8-hour shift- Call Required

Vista is interested in hiring an experienced Registered Nurse / RN - Same Day / PACU to provide nursing care to surgical patients in recovery. As a Registered Nurse / RN Same Day / PACU you will be responsible for the safety of surgical patients while in recovery and assessing, monitoring, and treating Same Day / PACU patients. Specifically responsible for:

• Assessing patient status and recognize any changes in patients condition, take appropriate action, and revise care accordingly.
• Assist with equipment maintenance and supply inventory.
• Provide education and information to surgical patients and families.

Qualifications:

· Registered Nurse in the state of Illinois

· BSN strongly preferred

· CPR, ACLS, PALS certified

· One year of experience in PACU, ICU, or surgical nursing unit or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skill can be acquired.

· Outstanding communication skills

· Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills

· Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
