The Air Force Civilian Service (AFCS) are looking for an experienced real estate transactional paralegal in the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force General Counsel, Installations, Energy, and the Environment Division. The position is permanent and is classified as an NH-III (GS-12/13 equivalent). The paralegal selected for this position will be responsible for providing legal advice and counsel to the Air Force Civil Engineer Center on laws, policies and matters regarding real estate including, but not limited to, acquisition, leasing, financing, development, management, temporary use, and disposal of real property.This position will be located at Joint Base San Antonio-Kelly Annex in support of the real estate practice group.

- Qualified applicants must be able to obtain a security clearance.
- The applicant must have the following minimum qualifications: (1) a paralegal certification or a commensurate associate degree in paralegal studies; and (2) Minimum of two (2) years of transactional real estate experience.
- Broad knowledge of the Federal and State laws, regulations, an policies governing administrative, environmental, real estate matters and contractual issues applicable in the fields of real property law, environmental law, military appropriations and authorizations, found in implementing statutes, regulations, DoD Instructions, and Air Force Instructions.
- In-depth knowledge of the laws and regulations regarding Freedom of Information Act and Privacy Act to ensure efficient processing and appropriate resolution of requests for information from the media, Government officials, commercial entities, and the public.
- In-depth knowledge of general office management procedures and interpersonal and public communication skills to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Ability to prepare speeches and briefings to senior management and the public, and to prepare legal briefs and summaries of legal analyses.
- Ability to operate various computer systems associated peripheral equipment is mandatory. This ability must include the ability to create and manipulate databases and document preparation in support of complex transactions requiring highly technical legal wording and support materials.
- Capability to handle acquisition, organization, and maintenance of complex law and professional/technical research library, including assisting attorneys and other professionals in research programs.
- Ability to draft various legal instruments.
