An Assembly Technician with AHP constructs custom assemblies and fabricates value-added assembly items as needed by customers and for stock. Essential Duties:
- Fabricate and construct custom stock assemblies by performing the following: plasma cutting, welding, soldering, grinding, painting, electrical wiring, fabricating hose and tubing to various sizes, using general hand and power tools, as well as performing various diagnostic and trouble-shooting practices.
- Interact and take direction from the Assembly Division Coordinator and management team for scheduling and prioritizing assembly projects and methods to use in completing tasks.
- Use calculators and charts to determine appropriate components to be used in some assemblies.
- Document new and changed custom assemblies through the use of digital cameras, computers, scanners, faxes, and electronic drawings in conjunction with applications engineering.
- Testing completed units to the prescribed standards as required and specified by customers.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to walk. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
