Description
Under the direction of the Director of IT Support the information technology (IT) intern will have the unique opportunity to gain in-depth experience in an IT department, evaluating current IT infrastructure while proposing and implementing improvements for the current and future improvement of organizational technology needs. The IT intern will develop and utilize their critical thinking and project management skills to support various software, hardware, programming, analytics, and data center management. The IT intern will have the opportunity to perform hands-on application while developing their decision-making skills in planning, documentation, report writing and teamwork.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the IT team in documenting and maintaining hardware, software, and other technology systems.
- Develop working relationships with IT specialists to provide and improve customer service utilizing our Helpdesk platform.
- Assist with member-based inquiries and assist in building database queries for departments.
- Participate in vendor calls and IT planning meetings providing regular input and suggestions.
- Assist in other projects as assigned.
Requirements
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Enrolled in a college program (undergraduate or masters) working towards a degree in Information Technology or a related field
- Excellent customer service skills required.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills required.
- Strong attention to detail required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with or in the financial industry.
- Experience in computer networking configuration and architecture.
