What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Officer position at ALABAMA REGIONAL MEDICAL SERVICES?
SUMMARY: Knowledgeable of the principles and practices of modern security procedures such as securing buildings and grounds, patrol techniques, building searches, and visitor screening; knowledge of the laws of arrest, search and seizure; knowledge of general life safety codes (fire drills, fire alarms, etc.) knowledge of public and human relations; knowledge of basic mathematics and English with relation to report writing. Prior experience working with security monitors, security systems, and computers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Make periodic inspection tours inside the facility(s) and around the perimeter of the facility(s) to provide security and enforce security rules and regulations.
- Promote public relations by providing information and assistance to visitors, clients, escort personnel and officials as needed.
- Control and regulate visitor and staff parking.
- Monitor and maintain security cameras.
- Govern admittance to secured areas.
- Delivery and sort of company mail, medicine, information etc.
- Assist in clearing the facility in case of a fire and assist in escorting staff, clients, and guests to safety during threatening situations.
- Secure facility for closure.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:
Must be a high school graduate. College coursework preferred. Must have 2 years of related experience.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma, some college preferred.
2 years of experience as a Security Officer or related security experience with direct public contact.'
