The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a potential need for a Microbiologist I to provide technical support related to the detection and characterization of arboviral diseases for our government customer located in Fort Collins, Colorado.
Position may include periodic travel and need for flexible work schedule to accommodate alternate time zones.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide technical support related to the detection and characterization of arboviral diseases.
- Support the Virology and/or Diagnostics and Reference Team Leads (or designee).
- Perform management of a core sequencing unit and assist with bioinformatics application to inform public health action for furtherance of public health.
- Conducts highly specialized methods for the surveillance of arbovirus infections.
- Conducts inventory management, accessioning, and regulatory compliance activities and management of sequencing core activities.
- Participates in emergency responses as needed.
- CDC Emergency Response: Supports public health response and research activities related to viral vector-borne pathogens and related diseases.
- Must have a Bachelors in Biologics, Microbiology, or related discipline.
- Preferred a MS in Biologics, Microbiology, or related discipline.
- Must be a US Citizen .
- Must be able to pass a NACI background check.
