What are the responsibilities and job description for the Data Analyst position at Alakaina Family of Companies?
The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) has a potential need for a Data Analyst to support the 711th Human Performance Wing located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base (AFB) in Dayton, Ohio.
DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in designing, formulating, conducting, and leading statistical analysis of epidemiological studies risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the USAF beneficiary population. Use judgement and originality in developing innovative approaches to define and resolve highly complex situations.
- Assist in the management of the retrieval and integration of health information data, personnel records, deployment-related records, health surveillance registries, and other military-related data into usable format for end-users.
- Draft reports, prepare, and/or present reports, documents, and/or presentations pertaining to the status of the research and data analysis as requested.
- Present results of studies or investigations through briefings, technical reports, and publication into scientific journals.
- Apply knowledge of science/technology to analyze and resolve multifaceted issues/problems with minimal guidance. Collaborate with technical area stakeholders to develop strategies for effective execution within a particular technology area.
- Interface with USAFSAM/PHR leadership and staff.
- Other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:
- Possess a PhD in Statistics or other similar degree as approved by USAFSAM/PHR.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Possess advanced analytical skills in public health/epidemiology.
- Possess the ability to design, formulate, conduct, and lead statistical analysis of epidemiological studies on hearing conservation and risk reduction of negative health outcomes affecting the USAF beneficiary population.
- Be proficient in the following software programs: Microsoft Office, SAS, SAS Enterprise Guide, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Be current in Scientific and Technical Information (STINFO) training.
- Be current in Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) training to be able to access and process identified medical data.
- Experience working in a military environment.
- Must be willing to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
- Five years’ experience within a public health related field.
REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:
- US Citizen
- Must pass a Tier 1 background check (T1)/SF85
