Join a member-driven generation and distribution utility serving residents in 58 locations throughout rural Alaska with its headquarters in Anchorage, AK. The communities that Alaska Village Electric Cooperative serves receive power via small, isolated grids that utilize diesel generation and renewable sources. AVEC serves the rural Alaska communities with 11,513 meters, 515 miles of distribution line.
The Journeyman Lineman position will be a part of the Operations team at AVEC. If you are self-motivated, responsible, and driven, this position allows you freedom in setting your hours and pace while out in the field. While traveling with AVEC, you will get to enjoy world class fishing and hunting during the hours that you aren't working and will get to see parts of Alaska that most Alaskans don't even get to see.
The ideal candidate will be reliable, dependable, knowledgeable, self-motivated, resourceful and will like to travel and be adventurous enough to take on rural Alaska.
The Journeyman Lineman position is full time and paid based on experience within an established wage range of $33.84 to $49.28 with Overtime expected while out in the field. Per diem is also paid for time spent away from Anchorage.
