Classification Associate Support Staff Position Term 12 months Basic Statement of Responsibilities
Communicates general information to our interested and current student population, general public, and the College Community. This position updates our student files with incoming academic information and provides administrative support to the Advising and Enrollment Services area.
Qualifications Education, Experience, and Specialized Skills
Knowledge of all office equipment, computer skills, etc. Associate Degree, with at least 1 year of experience working in an office environment OR minimum five years’ experience in an administrative associate role. Effective communication skills are vital to perform the functions of this role.
Organizational Relationships
  • The Enrollment Services Generalist reports directly to the Executive Director of Enrollment and Advising Services.
  • This position supervises student work study positions.
  • This position works closely with all other members of the Enrollment and Advising Services area as well as numerous other areas throughout the college.
Primary Responsibilities/Essential Functions
  • Provides full range of enrollment services support to students and the general public by responding to inquiries and requests for information and assistance in person, online or by phone.
  • Responsible for student scheduling. Receives and maintains all student grids, schedule changes, advisor changes, curriculum changes, address changes, residency changes and social security number changes for all students.
  • Assists with processing admissions applications for all new and readmitted students.
  • Retrieves, sorts, and updates students’ files with incoming academic data.
  • Assists, and informs students with enrollment processes, procedures and policies, which include, but are not limited to: admissions; advising, and registration.
  • Assists students to navigate the students with technical processes.
  • Assists the Executive Director of Enrollment Services and Advising with budget processes and scheduling.
  • Performs other duties as required.
Secondary Responsibilites Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Must be familiar with higher education practices, policies and trends. Requires knowledge of curricula offered by the College and an understanding of academic regulations. Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and be willing to train on the campus academic records database. Must possess strong organizational skills, interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, basic accounting skills for budgeting purposes.
Working Conditions
Normal office environment. Travel is required to other campuses, educational sites, off campus meetings, and training workshops and seminars.
Physical Effort Required
Most of the job is sedentary. Occasional periods of light work may be required; lifting file boxes, pulling and replacing folders, etc. Other physical requirements include:
