JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: PFCE Specialist DEPT: Early Learning Division
(Parent, Family, Community Engagement Specialist)
REPORTS TO: Social Media Marketing Specialist FLSA: Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE: Grade 7 STARTING SALARY:
JOB SUMMARY: Ensures effective high-quality services for the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement framework of the Family Services component according to Head Start Program Performance Standards, the Head Start Act, and other funding source mandates and regulations.
CHILDREN SUPERVISION RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for child supervision and for keeping children safe.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Assist the Family Support Services Component in planning, developing, and administering training sessions for families and staff on the Parent, Family, and Community Engagement (PFCE) framework.
Monitor, analyze, and report on PFCE activities, data, outcomes, and community partnerships.
Attend and assist in the facilitation and formation of the center parent committees. Monitor parent committee meetings monthly. Able to travel to all Early Learning sites and attend meetings, training, and events as needed.
Assist with gathering information and resources for the parent calendar, quarterly newsletter, parent meetings, training and events.
Provide support in the facilitation and formation of the Early Learning Policy Council. Attend Policy Council meetings, trainings, committees, and events.
Encourage and facilitate parents’ participation and partnership with staff in all areas of the program.
Oversees the management of all in-kind data including charting and tracking monthly in-kind from sites, components, and community partners.
Assist with related component activities and events.
Maintain filing system for all parent engagements and in-kind reports.
Adhere to Alliance for Community Empowerment Inc. policies and procedures related to prevention and response to COVID-19, including participating in training, use of PPE, implementation of universal precautions, social distancing, and keeping the workspace clean.
Assist with daily health screening and monitoring as related to COVID-19.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Services or related field plus at least one-year experience in Community Services OR Family Development Credential plus at least two years experience in Community Services OR a High School graduate plus three years of work experience in Community Services.
Demonstrated experience in family support programs and knowledge of community resources and human services.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Must have knowledge of Greater Bridgeport and surrounding areas.
Bi-lingual oral and written communication skills are helpful.
Interpersonal skills and the ability to work with children and families of diverse cultural, racial, and ethnic backgrounds required.
Strong Computer skills and data entry knowledge are required.
A valid Connecticut driver’s license and a good driving record are required.
