What are the responsibilities and job description for the Business Development Manager - DoD position at Alloy Precision Technologies?
This is a leadership role in achieving business growth through new business development, new account development, market research, and market development. Develop and maintain strong, positive communications and relationships with customers, vendors, and internal colleagues. This position will be a “hands-on” sales and marketing position targeting growth of DoD, DoE, Aerospace, and Government markets for Alloy Precision Technologies (APT).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- To expand business with new and existing customers and markets through effective growth strategies, industry knowledge, customer development and selling new product and service offerings. He/she will be responsible for developing and expanding current accounts, identifying and developing target accounts, defining customer requirements, developing new plans and strategies, and delivering winning proposals.
- The Business Development Manager will be continuously developing knowledge regarding the industry, target customers, and market and product applications. He/she will use new and traditional methods to keep the company up to date on new opportunities. He/she will have a good understanding of company’s products, services, and overall capability. When the business is presented with new opportunities, the Business Development Manager will assist the company in creating and implementing successful and cost-effective plans.
- The Business Development Manager will work cooperatively and proactively with senior staff, engineering and operations in a supportive, positive, team approach. This position requires strong communication and coordination both externally and internally.
- He/She will maintain ownership and advocacy of customer’s projects with internal colleagues. He/she should have successful experience with contract review, pricing analysis, and project negotiations. All quality certification procedures currently in place, such as ISO 9001 and AS9100, NADCAP, and ITAR must be followed.
- Travel to current and target accounts, trade shows, and suppliers will may be required to develop and maintain contacts and sound business relationships.
- Work with the Director of Sales, & Marketing, & Product Engineering in the development and implementation of needed collateral materials, internet support, and marketing support campaigns to solidify Company’s market position and support sales development efforts.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
There are no supervisory responsibilities for this position.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- A technical, industrial background is desired with five (5) or more years of industrial sales and marketing experience. Knowledge of precision engineered and machined components is a plus.
- Experience with DoD, Aerospace, and/or Military markets is required.
- Must have strong computer and analysis skills.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism, self-confidence, drive, and commitment with the ability to interact appropriately at all levels from technical to management to senior leadership within an organization.
- Polished communication skills (written and oral) with the ability to properly format, develop, write and present sales proposals, client presentations, white papers, etc.,
- Must be able sit at a computer for an extended period of time.
- Must be able to communicate effectively.
- Must be able to travel as required.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT:
When on the shop floor, must wear slip appropriate safety shoes and safety glasses.
Pay is commensurate with experience in the DoD, Military, or Aerospace markets.
