Library Assistant

Description

American Academy (AA) has an immediate opening for a full-time Library Assistant at our Motsenbocker campus.  The Library Assistant at AA is responsible for library organization and inventory.  In addition, the Library Assistant is responsible for working with students during library time, including reading to and with students and assisting with book check-out. Responsibilities:

Adhere to the mission and philosophy of American Academy with enthusiasm, commitment, and integrity

Uphold and model American Academy’s Character and Manners

Library/Media Specialist Support:  Complete daily tasks; Assist with book and asset inventory; Assist with library organization including shelving books; Assist with book repair and replace, as needed; Bar code and inventory new books upon receipt 

Student Support:  Assist students during library time with book selection and check-out; Read books with and to students; Oversee that all students are safe and respectful during library time

Carpool Duties:  Ensure all students are safe during assigned carpool shifts

Positive Contribution to the School Environment:  Provide timely and clear communication; Respond to staff and parent emails within 48 hours; Demonstrate initiative in personal achievements and team support; Maintain integrity with respect to hierarchy in the organization; Demonstrate professionalism; Demonstrate positive relationships with colleagues

Requirements:

High School graduate or equivalent

Minimum job-related experience; Experience in an educational environment preferred 

Office and Computer skills:  word processing/spreadsheets (Google Docs/Sheets, email (GMail), database experience a plus 

Detail oriented, organized and the ability to multi-task

Qualifications

Salary : $33,000 - $38,000
