The Loyola University Chicago Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing invites applications for a clinical track faculty position focused on teaching, curricular development, and integration of simulation pedagogy. This is a 12-month non-tenure track open rank position for appointment at the clinical assistant professor rank or higher based on the applicant’s education, program of scholarship, and teaching experience.

A leader in nursing education for 90 years, the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing community includes 75 full-time faculty, 19 staff, and over 1100 students. Programs include a BSN degree with traditional and accelerated tracks, an MSN degree in nursing and healthcare administration, a DNP degree with tracks for preparation in nurse practitioner, clinical nurse specialist, and systems leadership roles, and a PhD in Nursing degree.

- Use high, medium, and low-fidelity simulation modalities to provide high-quality learning experiences to pre-licensure and advanced practice nursing students. Primary responsibilities include developing, organizing, facilitating, and evaluating simulation learning experiences and programs.
- Collaborate with faculty on curriculum and course planning, improvement, and evaluation.
- Develop and disseminate scholarship that advances nursing practice and education.
- Engage in service activities consistent with the mission and strategic vision of the MNSON, university, and nursing profession.
- Contribute to MNSON and university goals for inclusive excellence.
- Experience facilitating high-quality simulation scenarios
- Clinical experience as a registered professional nurse
- Potential to establish and maintain a program of scholarship, consistent with the expectations of rank
- Certification as a Healthcare Simulation Educator (CHSE) from the Society for Simulation in Healthcare is desirable
- Doctoral degree in nursing or a doctoral degree in a related field with a master’s degree in nursing. Will consider a candidate with a master’s degree in nursing who is enrolled in a doctoral degree program.
- Eligibility for licensure as a registered nurse in the state of Illinois
