American Bank is seeking a highly motivated Commercial Loan Assistant. The ideal candidate must have experience providing a wide range of professional support. Must be well organized, flexible and self-directed, with excellent judgment and
the ability to anticipate needs. This position will deal with confidential matters, will interact with professionals at all levels. Must have an ability
to remain flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Setting up commercial loan files, responsible for maintaining department files in an accurate and efficient manner
- Perform procedures related to advances, pay downs, and disbursement process
- Prepare and review documentation of loan closings as needed with emphasis on loans for a commercial purpose
- Order required due diligence items (i.e. Appraisals, Property Inspections, etc.)
- Ensures accuracy and proper use of tracking reports for key information such as Flood Insurance, Property Tax Insurance, UCC’s, etc.
- Provide administrative support to lending team
- Works with loan officers and third-party professionals (attorneys, appraisers, inspectors, etc.) in order to close loans in conformity with approved terms and conditions
- Prepares funding information
- Verifies that all pre-closing conditions have been met prior to authorizing funding
- Liaison with customer as necessary
- Use time effectively and schedule in advance
- Be accountable and responsible with ability to learn from mistakes and feedback
- Have a positive attitude
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Proficient document management skills
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Ability to multitask while maintaining a high degree of attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent analytical problem-solving capabilities; ability to exercise independent judgment in methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results
- Able to exercise a high degree of confidentiality
- Excellent and proactive calendar management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- High level of integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and professionalism in dealing with people inside and outside of the company
- Highly energetic and self-starter
- Thoughtful decision-making, problem resolution and creative thinking skills a must
Experience:
- Banking experience required
- Bachelor’s
degree preferred
- 2 years’ experience with Commercial lending preferred
