JOB SUMMARY:
Americo is currently hiring for a Senior Reinsurance Specialist. The Senior Reinsurance Specialist reviews the new and existing reinsurance treaties for accuracy and ultimate placement on the reinsurance administration system so that all policies requiring reinsurance are ceded in accordance with treaty provisions and that the company does not retain more than the corporate limit and does not pay more premium than due to the reinsurers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare quarter-end and year-end worksheets for the quarterly and annual statements
- Review reinsurance billings for accuracy, make changes and prepare check requests and vouchers
- Add new products to the TAI system which will create billings for new
- Review draft treaties for new products to make sure it can be administered on the TAI system
- Review the new business queue for ultimate reinsurance placement of facultative issues
- Train and assist other reinsurance personnel
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILITIES:
- Proficiency on mainframe computer and personal computer
- Knowledge of accounting concepts
- Insurance and reinsurance background
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
- Analytical skills- mathematical and problem solving
- General office skills and accounting skills
- Good communication skills- oral and written
- Self-starter, must be able to work independently and with others
- Quality and quantity of work on a timely and consistent manner
EDUCATION:
- 4-year college education
