You will work directly with school-age youth to help them reach their academic potential. You will help shape their futures through school or after school-based programs. You will work hand in hand with school personnel to help your youth complete their homework and classwork. You will guide them as they learn the value of service projects to improve their community. We're looking for members who are not only able to have fun with kids on their level but who are also able to be professional and inspirational role models. This is a chance to help youth grow and to grow yourself. You will have fun, but you also will have challenges to overcome. If you're an energetic, committed individual who relishes the feeling of accomplishment after an exhausting day running around with kids, this is the position for you!
Member Duties : Members duties will be among the following, depending on the needs of the youth they serve: -Provide Safe Places with Structured Activities: Members will meet with local school and community leaders as well as the youths themselves to identify each youths individual needs. This could be one-on-one conversations, group discussions, games, sports, arts and crafts, or independent learning. -Provide Academic Assistance One-on-One or in small groups with youth- giving individual attention to youths needs and abilities and fostering self-confidence. -Community Service/Service-Learning activities that encourage youth to become productive members of their communities and promote their ability to do something positive for themselves.
