Cafeteria Worker/ Food Service Worker
- Arranges food and beverages for the purpose of making product available to students and staff.
- Collects payments from students and staff, then add funds directly onto the assigned lunch account.
- Reconciles POS cash drawer at the end of each shift.
- Can identify and qualifying reimbursable meal, and charges appropriately.
- Responds to student and staff inquiries for the purpose of providing direction or information about their lunch account.
- Completes food preparation tasks that are communicated by the Kitchen Manager and or Head Cook.
- Assists fellow co-workers in tasks if there is any down time. This is not limited to: stocking inventory, receiving, and storing orders, food preparation, food portioning, food packaging, dishes, cleaning, and sanitizing duties.
- Ability to learn the POS system and will update skills as necessary to meet changing job conditions.
- Required to know basic math including using fractions, percent, and money handling.
- Maintains proper hygiene and adheres to appropriate dress code.
Requirements:
- Ability to adapt and work well with a changing work environment. Works well under pressure.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, push or pull heavy carts and racks, be able to work in varied work environment temperatures- example: Put away orders in the freezer, or work in a hot kitchen during spring/summer months.
- Must be able to read, speak, write, and understand English.
- Must be able to communicate with the public and have good customer relations’ skills.
- Desirable- high school graduate or have the equivalent GED.
- Must be able to follow a standardized recipe.
