What are the responsibilities and job description for the Asphalt Paver/Screed Operator position at AMI Construction, Inc.?
The Asphalt Paver/Screed Operator will assist in overseeing personnel and activities of their crew to meet company production schedules and quality specifications. Potential candidates must have the knowledge and skill to pave up to industry standards. The role is best suited for a team player who is action oriented, and can work with a firm, yet considerate disposition.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform work in accordance with local and commercial specifications.
- Operate asphalt paver/screed to apply asphalt per plan and quality specs to insure schedules are met.
- Help coordinate between other crews, subs, and vendors.
- Read blueprints, calculate mix/tonnage, and implement architectural plans.
- Help motivate crew members in a professional manner in order to relay expectations.
- Work alongside crew members and assist in all capacities of applications.
- Work with the Foreman to stay updated on product knowledge and be informed of any changes.
- Maintain a high level of professionalism with clients and work to establish a positive rapport with every contact.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills Needed:
- Must be able to operate the Paver and Screed. Ability to operate a Roller, and Skid Steer is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of asphalt paving experience.
- Strong analytical ability, quantitative and problem-solving skills, and excellent communication/interpersonal skills.
- Confidentiality and trustworthiness.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $27.00 - $32.00 per hour
