Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The ideal candidate will have experience working with medical records, legal pleadings, and case preparation, particularly in a healthcare setting.
- Prepare deposition materials, including binders, medical records, and diagnostic imaging files.
- Draft discovery responses, court pleadings, and client correspondence.
- Request and track medical and billing records from clients and third-party providers.
- Review medical records to identify relevant providers and involved staff.
- Draft authorizations, non-party requests, and related compliance documentation.
- Conduct research on Medical Review Panel nominees and summarize findings.
- Prepare itemizations of damages and expert review materials.
- Draft client reports and case update summaries.
- Coordinate communications with outside counsel and experts.
- Maintain organized case files and support attorneys with case preparation tasks.
Required Competencies, Education and Experience
- 3 plus years of experience with healthcare litigation / medical malpractice
- Proficiency in legal research, writing, and drafting legal documents.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
