What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at Anderson Erickson Dairy?
Anderson Erickson Farms, a division of Anderson Erickson Dairy is seeking to add an Assistant Production Supervisor to its boxing facility at 2140 Delaware Avenue in Des Moines, Iowa.
The ideal candidate will have the following requirements, skills and experience:
- Class A CDL- Preferred prior to hiring. However, must acquire within the first six months of employment.
- Basic warehouse and logistics experience, including the use of a forklift, pallet jacks, pallet wrappers.
- Basic loading dock experience with firsthand experience in safe work practices.
- Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and familiarity with SQF.
- Experience enforcing policy.
- Good communication skills.
- Attendance tracking, time cards and directing a temporary workforce.
- Prior experience with boxing and packaging of food products.
- Basic knowledge of load manifests, invoices and pick sheets.
- Must have at least 1 year of direct Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or warehouse work environment.
- Good computer skills- including MS Word, Excel and Outlook.
- THIS IS A WORKING SUPERVISOR ROLE- NOT A DESK JOCKEY. YOU WILL BE WORKING IN A PARTIALLY REFRIGERATED WAREHOUSE.
- Must be able to routinely lift 50 lbs. and push/ pull wheeled carts that exceed 900 lbs.
Typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday 6 AM- 2:30 PM. Hours may vary during summer and/ or winter months.
All offers of employment are subject to successfully passing a drug test, background check and pre-employment physical. Ninety (90) day probationary period.
