What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Media Manager position at ANDRETTI AUTOSPORT HOLDING COMPANY LLC?

Purpose of the Role:

Managing the content capture, community management and day-to-day social operations of the Andretti Autosport INDYCAR team. Driving high channel performance through pioneering content, campaigns, and fan engagement across social channels, contributing to the overarching brand and partner objectives. You will be a creative leader in charge of the creation of content, as well as the strategic skills to publish effectively across channels, sharing our story with the world.

Role Dimensions:

You'll be based at our HQ in Indianapolis, Indiana but both domestic and international travel to events may be required. You'll be reporting into Head of Social and Content but need to build strong relationships with people across both the wider Communications and Marketing team. There may be some flexibility with working hours and travel required to fulfil this role effectively.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Manage and execute the content calendar while campaign planning the distribution of content for our INDYCAR and INDY NXT team’s, with some potential support and cross-over on other series within Andretti Autosport.
  • Ongoing management of the social tone of voice, liaising with Communications colleagues to align with the broader communications narrative.
  • You will work alongside an in-house content producer dedicated to our INDYCAR program, who you will work collaboratively with to capture and produce content for our social media channels.
  • Working closely with our marketing and design team to establish and enforce brand guidelines and design graphical elements across our social channels.
  • You will play a key role in guiding how our partners activate on social media. From assisting with campaign planning, to executing on the ground in market and ultimately syndicating content across multiple channels.
  • Monitor and record social media analytics to stay atop of current trends and proactively advise their impact on the business.
  • Work closely with data & insights to monitor channel performance against KPIs including audience growth and engagement on a weekly basis.
  • Maintaining a strong awareness of changes to the social media platforms, implementing new content and communications strategies to maximize opportunities.
  • To be up to date on video, photography and social media trends to ensure we are at the forefront of content.


Knowledge, Skills, and Experience:

  • Strong interest in sports or entertainment, with knowledge of current and upcoming social media platforms and trends
  • Established social media and community management background including solid proven experience in managing the day-to-day activity on a major brand social media account across different platforms (either client or agency side)
  • Experience of copywriting with a clear passion for writing copy and understanding of social media tone of voice
  • Some Photoshop and picture editing experience, with a keen eye for design
  • Some experience of delivering social media marketing campaigns, including paid media
  • Understanding of the broader digital landscape and the role that social media plays for brands, including a comprehensive understanding of the role of social media in sport, evidencing an understanding of sports fans’ passion and key drivers
  • Ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
  • Experience working for (or on projects related to) a premium or luxury brand
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment; must be a team player. Acute attention to detail
  • Diligent work ethic: flexible weekend/evening schedules will be required and travel

Salary : $38,300 - $48,500
