Quality Assurance Supervisor
The Quality Assurance Supervisor provides leadership for the development, implementation, and administration of the QA function to ensure product safety, conformity, and integrity with respect to the customer, company, and regulatory requirements. The Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for ensuring proper maintenance of existing programs (HACCP, PCQI, GMPs, Pest Control, etc.) while overseeing the development and maintenance of quality documentation, translation of sanitation guidelines into company policies, and management of audits conducted by third-party inspectors.
Duties and competencies will include, but are not limited to:
- Maintains customer quality satisfaction through the implementation and use of programs to control raw materials, in-process materials, production process, environmental conditions & finished products
- Assist and facilitate internal and external audits by third parties companies
- Executes plans for continuous improvement for operations.
- Ensure highly disciplined compliance with all regulatory and company defined food safety and sanitation standards, systems, and procedures.
- Leads/Mentors QA Team to develop specifications, recipes, inspection plans for raw materials and finished goods.
- Performs annual training on processes/systems such as HACCP, GMP’s, Food Security, Allergens, and other topics as they arise in quality and food safety.
- Develop and monitor SOP’s and SSOP’s
- Monitors daily QA documentation
- Monitors pest control program
- Participate in the plant safety program
- Conducts periodic Mock Recalls/Traces to ensure that the traceability program is functioning properly, and assure all other internal QA Programs are functioning properly.
- Serve as point-of-contact during annual auditing events conducted by third-parties with certifying body (BRC)
- Request and maintain all vendor documentation
- Interpret and implement departmental goals, objectives, and policies to ensure delivery of quality product
- Performs other related duties as assigned

- Demonstrated excellence with Microsoft Office software including Outlook calendar/email, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required

Education & Experience
- Minimum of three to five (3-5) years of experience within the food industry in a Quality Assurance/Quality Control capacity.
- Minimum of two (2) years of supervisory/management experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of managing annual auditing of GFSI (Global Food Safety Initiative) standards
- Thorough knowledge of HACCP, GMP’s, PCQI, OSHA, Auditing, and Plant Sanitation programs
- Bachelor’s degree (Master’s preferred) in agricultural engineering, food science, chemistry, food microbiology, or another relevant technical field.
