Description:
The Plant Manager oversees all aspects of manufacturing operations to ensure profitability, adherence to customer specifications, and high-quality standards at Anita’s. They manage department heads to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, maintain a safe working environment, and collaborate with upper management to recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements. The Plant Manager also supports sales activities by analyzing product costing, attending food shows, and assisting customers as required.
Reports to: Director of Operations
Back-up: Sr. Director of Manufacturing
Requirements
- Minimum 4 years as a Plant Manager in food manufacturing.
- College degree
- Knowledge of Safety and Labor Laws.
- Lean Certified, Green belt 6 sigma minimum. Black belt PLUS
- Ability to rotate shift based on Plant needs.
- Experience with food manufacturing equipment/machinery.
- Must be able to generate company documents as well as maintain all existing documents.
- Computer skills required, Microsoft Excel/Word.
Position Responsabilités:
- Ensures that Production runs on time and effectively with overall productivity, waste reduction and O.T. hours.
- KPI’s; Collecting, Analyzing, and Developing Plant Goals
- Continuous Improvement, solution-based thinking (problem-solving), long-term strategic planning
- Oversees that all equipment is maintained in good working condition
- Ensures that all employees are trained according to each job requirement
- Makes sure that all the departments are working to full capacity
- Develop key employees (supervisors, cooks, lead persons, etc.) the goal is that each department and shift can operate effectively and efficiently with minimal supervision
- Ensures that all departments comply with operating procedures under USDA, FDA, GMP, HACCP, SOP, and OSHA compliance, as well as all environmental regulatory agencies.
- Schedules staff meetings and needed training for Supervisors and key employees.
- Enforce company policies consistently with all employees
- Always strive to meet company budgets or fix costs, and strive to reduce labor, waste, or anything that will impact the bottom line
- Works closely with Sales staff to ensure that costing is effective and profitable.
- Listen to employee’s problems and suggestions and respond accordingly
- Develop operating procedures for all departments.
- Insure and check that all paperwork is complete, and turned in to the various departments needed
- Communicate to top management all major problems
- Develop budgets for all related departments
- Always strive to be pro-active
- Develop and maintain a good working relationship with coworkers and management, team player
- Work with the Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams to ensure the quality and food safety of all products manufactured.
- Staying up to date on Manufacturing Best Practices
Language Skills:
Written: ability to read, interpret, and comprehend simple instructions and documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and policies/procedures manuals; ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written instructions.
Oral: Ability to convey messages, ideas, and expectations through the effective use of words, body language, and voice tone in person and in telephone conversations with residents, staff members, supervisors, and other employees of the company.
Listening: Ability to take in and understand spoken messages by being attentive and by using skills to understand the meaning behind a person’s words.

The Robles Family acquired Anita’s in 1978, since that time, Anita's has become recognized for the production of snack foods on the West Coast. The plant has various manufacturing lines that produce a wide range of fried tortilla chips, pallet snacks and taco shells.
In 2013 Anitas moves into its new state of the art facility, in San
