Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Janitor to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and welcoming environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to custodial duties, with a focus on both commercial and residential spaces.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and dusting to maintain cleanliness throughout the facility.
- Carry out floor care activities such as buffing and waxing to ensure surfaces are well-maintained and presentable.
- Conduct industrial cleaning tasks as needed, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Assist with custodial duties in both residential and commercial settings, ensuring all areas are sanitized and organized.
- Support facilities maintenance efforts by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to management.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring they are stocked and in good working condition.
- Follow established cleaning schedules while being flexible to accommodate special requests or urgent needs.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in custodial or janitorial roles is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with floor care techniques, including buffing and polishing, is a plus.
- Knowledge of industrial cleaning methods and safety practices is beneficial.
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to clean and maintain various surfaces effectively.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication skills to interact with staff and occupants respectfully.
- Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks that may require lifting or moving equipment up to 50 pounds.
