What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Watch Attendant position at Apex Park and Recreation District?

Responsibilities include caring for children from ages 6 weeks to 10 years (this includes changing diapers, interacting, and monitoring them as they free play in the Apex Center Child Watch and Club House). Applicants should be comfortable being around kids, reading, and playing with them. Responsible for basic computer usage, basic cash handling, and general cleanliness of the department.
Hours:
Typical hours are between 8am to 12pm on weekday mornings and 4:00 pm to 8:15 pm on weekday evenings.
Weekend hours are typically between 8:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Minimum Age: 18
Knowledge of youth games, activities, and arts and craft projects desired. Associate is expected to exhibit the district's core values of Honesty, Attitude, Loyalty and Teamwork.
CPR/First Aid required within 30 days of hire.
High School diploma preferred. Substantial experience taking care of children, ages 6 weeks to 10 years.
Cash handling experience desired, but not required.
The ability to provide basic customer service and effectively manage conflict is useful in this role.Physical Abilities:Ability to push, pull, carry, or lift objects and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
Ability to react quickly and appropriately to the physical needs or emergencies of children and participants.
Ability to work standing up for the majority of the day.
Ability to climb and crawl in tight spaces to complete maintenance or activity related task.
Work Environment
Noise levels range from moderate to loud, often due to active children, group interactions, or busy transportation settings.
