APEX Placement and Consulting has partnered with an exciting company in Greenfield IN, looking to add a Construction Project Manager to their already amazing team. Their primary responsibility will be to manage and coordinate construction projects from initiation to completion. Could this be the job for you?

What your day will look like:
- Project Planning: Analyze bid documents, construction drawings, specifications, and scope at the project award stage to identify high-risk factors and unique requirements. Collaborate with relevant departments to proactively manage risks. Assemble and coordinate the project team, holding internal and external planning meetings early in the design phase to identify efficiency opportunities and cost-saving measures.
- Project Scheduling: Create, update, and manage the project schedule, establishing key milestones critical for success. Remain engaged from project initiation to closeout, ensuring both customer satisfaction and company profitability.
- Project Reporting: Provide weekly project status updates to the General Manager, gathering accurate project intelligence to deliver timely and relevant information to the project team. Report on potential risks related to lost profits, inefficiency, and legal exposure.
- Contract and Change Order Administration: Oversee project contracts from receipt to execution. Negotiate contracts with customers, identifying risks and reporting them to the General Manager. Ensure full compliance with contract terms throughout the project. Negotiate and administer subcontracts and change orders, managing both claims and disputes. Assist in maintaining a comprehensive change order log.
- Billing and Collections: Assist the Contract Administrator with monthly billing. Review and set the project schedule of values, ensuring timely and accurate billing. Ensure collections are on track, including retention payments.
- Project Closeout: Oversee the completion of punch lists and field finishing to achieve final customer acceptance. Submit project closeout documentation and collect final retention according to contract terms. Lead post-project meetings to review successes, lessons learned, and opportunities for improvement.
What we are looking for:
- Degree in Architecture, Architectural Engineering, Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 5-10 years of project management experience in the commercial construction industry.
- Proven ability to manage multiple assignments, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
- Excellent computer skills, proficient with Microsoft Office and Bluebeam; experience with AutoCAD, Tekla, and Trimble products is a plus.
- Must be able to travel to and from work sites and remain mobile in both plant and jobsite environments.
