General Laborer

We are looking for a General Laborer to take up manual labor tasks and support operations on worksites. 

We’d like you to have include stamina and the ability to lift heavy loads. You should be able to concentrate on performing your tasks and commit to safety rules. If you fit this description, and you’re also interested in doing tough but important work, we’d like to meet you. 

Apollo Drain general laborers have an important assisting role in our day-to-day operations. The job of a general laborer varies and changes day to day, but generally will include duties involving tool use, lifting, carrying and managing equipment or machinery to provide support and aid to our skilled craftspeople.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15-$18 per hour

Job Responsibilities:

Your daily activities may include any of the following:

• Check daily assignments and coordinate with technicians, when necessary
• Loading and unloading materials or equipment
• Delivering materials or equipment to technicians in the field
• Using a variety of tools and equipment
• Cleaning and removing debris from shop or jobsites
• Assembling and disassembling structures such as shelving units
• Digging trenches, compacting earth and backfilling holes
• Operating and tending machinery or heavy equipment
• Following instructions from supervisors
• Assisting skills tradespeople in their duties
• Provide any assistance when asked
• Drive company vehicles
• Safely operate power tools and hand tools
• Perform numerous types of manual labor
• Work according to the company’s safety policies and guidelines
• Assist with various yard duties

Job Requirements:

• Working conditions:  Outside in all types of weather conditions
• Stamina and endurance: To perform their very physical job, laborers have to conduct strenuous and physically demanding tasks for long hours and in extreme environmental conditions.
• Strength: The lifting duties involved often require lifting and carrying weights in excess of 50 pounds.
• Reliable transportation to and from work
• Excellent hand-eye coordination skills.
• Ability to perform a variety of physical tasks including lifting, reaching, crawling, pushing, pulling, stretching, standing, and walking

Job Qualifications:

• Current state driver’s license and a clean driving record.
• Ability to pass a background check and a UA.
• Knowledge of geographical service area or map reading skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills that put people at ease and elicit action.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English fluently.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.

• Computer literate, able to learn and teach use of company Point of Sale software
