What are the responsibilities and job description for the Prototype Machinist position at Applied Industrial Technologies?
What you'll do:
This is a hands-on position primarily machining with some assembly duties. The position supports the Prototype Engineer for quick response on prototyping needs for customer projects. CNC and manual machining skills will be needed in this position. This is a fast-paced job with variety in projects. Additional details about what you will be doing includes:
- Operate a CNC mill, CNC lathe, manual lathe, and other typical machine shop tooling
- Use common measuring tools to verify part dimensions.
- Provide quality assurance on all produced parts
- Manage time and tasks to complete projects meeting or exceeding the customer delivery requirements

Requirements:
- Familiar with HAAS controller
- Ability to program in CAM software (Fusion 360 preferred)
- Experience in using chop saw to cut aluminum extrusion
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work/prioritize multiple projects
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Machining background with hands on experience required
- Highschool diploma or equivalent required
