Parish Business Manager
Position Summary: Professional administrator in support of the pastor and pastoral team. Stewards the physical, financial, and personnel resources of the parish and enables other ministries to function effectively. As a person of faith, committed to gospel values and responsible management of resources, helps the parish fulfill its mission and purpose.
Business Manager - Parish and School: Responsible for business and financial management of a parish, applies professional skills and knowledge of several specialized fields (e.g., accounting, supervision, facilities management, human resources, etc.) to perform work without specific directions. Uses considerable independent judgment; may have regular contact with the community in area of specialties and coordinates parish budget with program directors. The Business Manager supervises the bookkeeper, maintenance, IT, and administrative staffs. Collaborates with and advises the Pastor/Pastoral Team, School Principal and Assistant Principal.

Areas of Responsibility:
- Supervises bookkeeping staff and business administration for the parish and school, including annual budget preparation and monitoring of expenditures
- Facilitates hiring and supervises the maintenance staff for the entire campus
- On behalf of the parish, oversees purchasing, subcontractors, vendors, salespersons
- Develops short and long range plan for the ongoing maintenance of the parish buildings, property, and equipment
- Oversees the technology staff {IT) for the parish and the school along with the school principal·
- Oversees the staff persons responsible for scheduling of facilities, events, communications, secretarial support, and fundraising activities
- Is an ex-officio member of the Finance Council, serving as a resource and providing reports as needed and required·
- Serves as a member of the Parish Pastoral Staff, plans and attends staff meetings and collaborates with staff members and oversees their particular budgets and ministry activities
- Oversees the parish bookkeeper regarding human resource duties (payroll, etc.) for all employees
- Prepares annual teacher contracts and school employment agreements
- Interfaces with the public school districts regarding St. Mary School Shared Time Programs
- Supports and represents the pastor to the Finance Council and shares responsibility for planning and coordinating stewardship programs, CSA, and capital campaigns
- Regularly inspects the facility and takes the lead in security concerns for the campus
- Assists the tuition bookkeeper/manager regarding financial aid administration and tuition collection for the school and initiates the process for the collection of delinquent tuition if required
